- It is your responsibility to ensure that you understand your policy in full and are aware of any excess’s, exclusions, contributions or deductions that your Insurance Company will deduct from your claim.
- · We will need to see your full current policy schedule before any treatment is carried out and will need a signed claim form from you, each time you visit us, unless we are able to complete your claims electronically via your Insurance Company’s portal.
- · We are unable to process any direct claims for treatment under £300. Direct Claims are made at the discretion of the Veterinary Practice not the Insurance Company so Horizon Vets reserves the right to decline a Direct Claim should we feel that this is necessary.
- · We will be unable to offer direct claim for any dental treatment due to the various clauses within many insurance policies.
- · If a Direct Claim has been agreed, you will need to pay for the excess for each condition, each policy year.
- · We can send you a copy of your claim, should you require it.
- · We are unable to process any direct claims for Equine & Livestock (E&L), Petinsurance.co.uk and The Insurance Emporium. This means that you will be required to pay for the treatment in full and then your Insurance Company will reimburse you.
- · If you are insured with Animal Friends we will need you to pay a deposit at the time of admit. This amount will vary depending on the treatment, we will estimate this as 20% of the cost of treatment, however, depending on deductions made there may be an additional cost when the claim is complete. If Animal Friends settle the claim in full or more than the deposit that you have paid, we will refund the difference back to you.
- · It is important to remember that if you change your Insurance Company during or after treatment for a condition that your pet has suffered from, then that condition will no longer be covered by insurance as the Insurance Company will class it as a Pre-Existing Condition, so all treatment for that condition will need to be paid by you in full at the time of treatment.
- · We will contact you once you claim has been settled if your Insurance Company has made any deductions, and ask that this amount is paid promptly. If there is any money owed back to you then we will contact you to issue a refund.
- · We will keep you informed of any complications that may arise during the claim process.
- · With many insurance companies, you are able to claim yourself for any ongoing medication that your pet requires. To find out how to do this, please contact your insurance provider who will explain the process to you.
Please do not hesitate to ask us any questions or contact us if you have any concerns regarding you Insurance Policy.
Thank you for your cooperation
